“Everything starts in our brain, creating reality as we perceive it for ourselves” I would like to quote David Altmejd who says the head is the beginning and end of our universe. Everything Starts in Our Brain

This year has inevitably divided us, we were not allowed to leave our city and this situation meant that we couldn’t even see our family members, our fiancé or our closest friends. The proposed painting expresses a nostalgic reference to the life, more joyful and carefree, like we lived before Covid-19. In fact, in the painting called ‘Innocent Youth’ we see two young people who smile amused and happy. Another aspect on which our attention is focused on is love and how this need has also suffered. Just think of the increase in the number of divorce. The covid has strained feelings and the following painting wants to examine this dreadful period. Innocent youth, oil on canvas 20x35 cm, 2020

This year has inevitably divided us, we were not allowed to leave our city and this situation meant that we couldn’t even see our family members, our fiancé or our closest friends. Many people have even lost their job. This painting examines the economic crisis which the pandemic has caused. If we consider that 144 million people have lost their job in the world and above all women have suffered the most. It’s obvious that here we see a woman who represents the 98% of those who are now unemployed. She has a sad expression and her face is pale and tired. Finally some coins are falling from above without her been able to grab them. On the other hand she’s wearing some beautiful clothes, a symbol of something she has lost. The Covid has made everyone poorer, a situation which we must all overcome. Money Money, oil on canvas 70x100, 2021

This painting ironically faces the issue of death, in fact the artwork has a nail which passes through the young woman’s left eye. The canvas is literally skewered by nail, instead of being simply hung, so it is halfway between a classic oil painting and an installation. Furthermore, the woman is depicted on a light background so that the colours, in particular the red of her blood, easily stands out. The final objective is to stun or even to shock any spectator of the artwork. One day I discovered I had died, oil on canvas 60x60 cm, 2021
